This year we’re excited to bring the FatherSon to Kansas and play Firekeeper Golf Course. Inspired by the prairie and rolling woodlands of Kansas, Firekeeper is a Par 72 Championship Golf Course that has hosted multiple Professional Tournaments as well as a number of elite Amateur events. Designed by 4-time PGA Tour Winner Notah Begay III and Jeff Brauer, ASGCA, Firekeeper will be sure to deliver an exciting tournament.

Format

The Tournament is comprised of Two-person teams of relatives by birth or marriage from different generations. Minimum age is 13. Don’t have a qualifying team? No problem! We’d still love for you to play. However, non-conforming teams cannot officially win the tournament.

Choose to participate in the Competitive or Recreational format.  If you play less than five times per year, we’d encourage you to participate in the recreational format for more enjoyment.

Scoring for both tournament formats is cumulative, so scores from both days will be added together for a final team score at the end of day two.  We will flight the tournament at the end of the first 18 holes and your team will be paired with another twosome of a similar score on day two.

Competitive format

First Round

  • Front 9: Shamble
  • Back 9: Team Total

Second Round

  • Front 9: Best Ball
  • Back 9: Alternate Shot

Recreational format

Scramble for both days

Double par is the maximum score a team can receive on a hole except for Par 5’s, in which case the maximum score is 9 strokes.
